Best vegetarian restaurants in Bangkok
Luckily, vegetarian restaurants in Bangkok are slowly becoming a thing. Even though that there aren’t as many of them as we may like, mindful eaters have at least a few quality places to explore. So where can they sink their teeth into delicious healthy food?
Let’s take a look some of the best vegetarian restaurants Bangkok has to offer (presented in no particular order). Since not all listed restaurants are 100% vegetarian, I divided them into two categories – pure vegetarian and vegetarian-friendly.
1. Pure Vegetarian Restaurants in Bangkok
Broccoli Revolution
Broccoli Revolution has come a long way since it started a couple of years ago. It is a pure vegan restaurant and offers many tasty dishes originating in Thailand as well as abroad. What I like the most about this restaurant is that it doesn’t give plastic straws with its smoothies and cold-pressed juices, but rather organic straws made from a celery. It has a cozy environment, but it’s rather pricy. You can easily spend upwards of 500 THB per person if you get a meal with a drink.
Location: Sukhumvit 49 (Thong Lor)
May Veggie Home
May Veggie Home is an old fashioned vegan restaurant in a convenient location near Asok. What it lacks in terms of interior decoration, it makes up with the fresh homemade 100% vegan food. Moreover, it also serves bakery and ice-cream. Most of the menu items predominantly belong to Thai cuisine, with a few exceptions of western dishes, such as veggie burgers and fries.
Location: 8/3 Ratchadaphisek Road (Asok)
Veganarie
Veganerie first started as a vegan dessert place in Chit Lom (if you didn’t know they were vegan, you wouldn’t even know, they are so good). Since then, it branched out in a full-fledged vegan restaurant (located behind Benjasiri Park). It will delight lovers of vegan meals as well as those with sweet tooth. It’s definitely not the cheapest place to dine, but also not the most expensive on this list either.

Na Aroon
If you are looking for a traditional Thai vegetarian restaurant, look no further. Na Aroon is part of AriyasomVilla, a small boutique hotel, and is decorated in a beautiful conventional Thai style with large windows. It serves vegetarian food as well as seafood. In terms of cuisine, you can find both Thai and western dishes. Na Aroon’s philosophy is preparing healthy, tasty and organic vegetarian food using quality ingredients and produce. This makes it ideal for those who want to explore the taste of Thai cuisine without compromising their health.
Location: Sukhumvit Soi 1 (Phloen Chit)
Bonita Cafe and Social Club
Bonita Cafe and Social Club is a personal mom and pop store with a very warm feel to it (it looks like you are eating at home). Being pure vegan restaurant, it focuses on quality healthy food as the owners are active and passionate runners. Moreover, the place has three cats, making it an ideal eating place for pet lovers.
Location: Silom Soi 26 (Silom)
Khun Churn
Khun Churn is another gem when it comes to Thai vegetarian cuisine. Once you manage to find it (it has a surprisingly confusing location), you will be delighted with a wide array of Thai dishes. It looks quite classy and has a nice atmosphere for evening dining.
Location: Sukhumvit 42 (Ekkamai)

2. Vegetarian-Friendly Restaurants in Bangkok
Okhajhu (โอ้กะจู๋)
Founded in Chiang Mai, this restaurant (images above) is probably one of the most enjoyable on the list. It farms its own vegetables, has an extensive menu of delicious healthy meals and drinks (fruit, veggie smoothies and juices) and two central locations in Siam. While they do serve several dishes with animal products, there are more than enough options for vegetarians or even pure vegans, too. The standout features are their salads (they mix them so well) and large portions. Overall, the prices are very reasonably compared to the value you get. The only downside is there are always queues, so book ahead to avoid waiting in line for up to an hour or more.

The Hass Bistro
This restaurant is designed around avocado-themed dishes (the hint is in its name and logo). For example, the avocado burger consists of a peel avocado slices in two halves – these form the bun and the burger can be anything from an egg plant to chicken. Yes – The Hass Bistro also serves some non-veggie dishes, but vegetarian and vegans are likewise spoilt for choice here. Apart from eating in, you can also buy avocados for your own consumption. The taste of the food is good, but it is likewise quite pricy and probably only suitable for an occasional dining.
Location: Sukhumvit 49 (Thong Lor)
Lemon Farm
Lemon Farm is actually an organic food store with a few locations around Sukhumvit in Bangkok and beyond. In selected branches, however, they also serve food (for example in Thong Lor and Chit Lom). After sinking your teeth into a healthy meal, you can then refill your organic and natural food supplies with items, such as chia seeds, all kinds of oils, rice and even cosmetics. It’s definitely worth exploring for those who care about healthy living.

Sizzler
While Sizzler isn’t a pure vegetarian restaurant, vegetarians and vegans can only opt for the all-you-can eat salad bar. It offers the best value for your money on this list and also tastes great. You can find delicious soups as well as vegetable salads, plus you can throw in raw vegetable and dressing on top if you wish to do so – you are in full control of how you create your dishes. Unlike other restaurants, Sizzler can be found in many locations throughout Bangkok can be enjoyed with other vegetarian or meat-eating friends alike.
Location: Multiple locations
Dressed
Dressed is another example of a mixed restaurant that offers great vegetarian food in Bangkok. With multiple locations sprinkled around Sukhumvit Road, it offers convenience over single-location restaurant. The food and drink choice is good and prices are decent, too.

farmfactory
Farm Factory (image above) is a go-to place for salad lowers. Their dishes are built around the concept of customisable salads – you can either order one of their pre-made ones or create your own. Again, some of the options contain animal products, but these can be easily replaced with the vegetable of your choice. You can also enjoy a cold-pressed juice alongside your meal.

Where Else Can You Can Find Vegetarian Food in Bangkok?
The above restaurants aren’t the only places in Bangkok where you can enjoy plant-based and relatively healthy food. You can also find it in:
- Food courts – almost every food court has a stall dedicated to vegetarian dishes and fruits. One of the best ones are in Terminal 21, Robinsons @ Asok (B floor) and Century Mall in Onnut.
- Street – there are many street vendors selling fresh fruits that is already cut and ready to eat
- Indian restaurants – let’s not forget about Indian cuisine that has many vegetarian dishes. These are quite easy to find especially in the Sukhumvit area around Asok.

Is It Hard to Be a Vegetarian in Bangkok/Thailand?
People often ask me whether it’s not hard to be a vegetarian in Bangkok, especially when there is so much meat around. My answer is – no, not really. While I can’t compare Bangkok to other cities around the world as I only became a vegetarian after I moved to Thailand, the truth is that you can have it your way almost everywhere.
Even in regular restaurants, it’s possible to customise your meals and ask the staff not to use animal products. This way, you can enjoy going out for meals with your friends, not break a bank and stress stress out about not being able to find vegetarian restaurants.
My only gripe with this solution is the food quality. Many of the regular restaurants don’t use high quality produce and/or put sugar or MSG into the meals. This then offsets the benefits and leads to a host of other problems.
I hope you enjoyed this rundown and discovered some new places. As I said, this list is far from complete. I will be updating it as I keep discovering new places. If you know some other vegetarian restaurants in Bangkok that others should know about, don’t hesitate to leave your suggestion in the comment section below. And feel free to share it with your vegetarian friends.
